HOW WE ORGANIZE

Organizing is when people in a community come together to tackle a shared problem by building power and acting strategically. As we organize, we operate under the following

GUIDING PRINCIPALS

COMMUNITY CARE

As a group we support one another in our individual and collective growth. We show care and kindness to one another by encouraging folks to lean into discomfort and try new things, while also ensuring that our health and well being aren't sacrificed along the way. As we build power, we nourish ourselves with good food and plenty of rest.

STRENGTH IN OUR DIFFERENCES

We strive to make space for all types of contributions to this campaign, whether through art, activism, leaflet-making, cooking, etc. We do not value certain types of labor above others.

SHARED LEADERSHIP

We all take responsibility for the wellbeing of the group, which means we take turns with roles such as note taking, facilitation, etc, and that we ask questions and ask for support when needed.

SOLIDARITY

Whenever possible, we aim to lift up and support other student struggles for justice, equity, and sustainability. We recognize the interdependence of our community and believe that all our struggles are intertwined.

ANTI-OPPRESSION; PRO-LIBERATION

In our work we take a pro-intersectional approach, meaning that we actively work against systems of oppression and hold one another accountable as we each learn and grow through this work. We recognize that holding one another accountable is a form of love and community care.
